Brick Rewards Program

When joining the Brick Rewards Program, you must agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Therefore, it is important that you read the Terms and Conditions carefully before you join the Brick Rewards Program.

The purpose of the Brick Rewards Program is to provide members of the program with certain benefits in connection with the purchase of LEGO® products from www.greatyellowbrick.co.za or LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa.

The Brick Rewards Program is provided by:

GYBC is the company that operates the exclusive right to the LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa.

If you have any questions before you join the Brick Rewards Program or during your membership in the Brick Rewards Program, you may contact our Customer Service team by the following means:

You can only become a member of the Brick Rewards Program if you are aged eighteen (18) years or older.

You can join the Brick Rewards Program by signing up with a Sales Associate at your local LEGO® Certified Store in South Africa or by signing up here online.

In order to join the Brick Rewards Program, you must provide GYBC (by means of the LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa or via www.greatyellowbrick.co.za with the following information at the time you sign up:

1. A member name (first and last name),
2. valid email (this email address must be the same email address used in-store in order to link your Brick Rewards accounts)
3. phone number

You must ensure that you keep your email address operational and notify us if you change it. In case you fail to do so, you may not receive important program notifications from us.

If you join the Brick Rewards Program in store, you will receive a Brick Rewards Card at that time. You will have to use the Brick Rewards Card and/or the card number to enjoy the advantages of Brick Rewards Members.

If you join the Brick Rewards Program online you will receive an email with your membership details. Your online account will be linked to your Brick Rewards in-store as long as you use the same email address online and in-store

You can earn Brick Rewards Points every time you make an eligible purchase of LEGO® products in a LEGO® Certified Store in South Africa or on the www.greatyellowbrick.co.za website. Eligible purchases are defined as any service or merchandise available for purchase, excluding gift cards. (You will not earn Brick Rewards Points upon purchase of a gift card, but when a gift card is used by a Brick Rewards member to make an eligible purchase, the Brick Rewards member using the gift card will earn Brick Rewards Points.)

To earn Brick Rewards Points for purchases in LEGO® Certified Stores, you must provide your Brick Rewards Card at the time of the purchase.

To earn Brick Rewards Points for online purchases at the www.greatyellowbrick.co.za website, your Brick Rewards profile will be linked to your online account on greatyellowbrick.co.za. This will ensure you earn points at the time of paying for your purchase when shopping online.

If you sign up at a LEGO® Certified Store, online registration is not required to be able to redeem points in store and points won’t expire after 1 year.

Brick Rewards Points cannot be awarded on purchases made before joining the Brick Rewards Program.

Your membership is personal to you and you may only have one membership at the time. If we discover that you have multiple memberships of the Brick Rewards Program this will be deemed as a violation of these terms and conditions and we reserve the right to close down your accounts and you may lose your points.

The Brick Rewards Program may be used for purchases made online at www.greatyellowbrick.co.za and at LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa. LEGO® Certified Stores outside of South Africa do not participate in the Brick Rewards Program, which means Brick Rewards Points cannot be earned (or redeemed) in these locations.

Please Note that Brick Rewards discount coupons cannot be used towards any other promotion such as gift-with-purchase promotions. i.e. Rewards points cannot be redeemed for cash for the purposes of a promotion or sale item.

Earn 1 Point for every R1 spent. Redeeming 100 Points qualifies a Brick Rewards member for a discount of R5 towards a future purchase. You may redeem your Brick Rewards Points once you have reached specified thresholds set by GYBC, or you may continue to accumulate points towards a higher value reward/ gift.

Eligible purchases are defined as any service or merchandise available for purchase, excluding gift cards.

Applicable postage/shipping charges are excluded from point earnings.

100 Brick Rewards Point gives a discount for purchases made online at www.greatyellowbrick.co.za and at LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa of 5 Rand. This value can be redeemed once you have reached a specified points balance. Or Brick Reward Loyalty Program members can choose to save up additional points towards a higher value reward or gift.

Brick Rewards Points do not have a cash value; Brick Rewards Points may be accumulated to earn members a cash discount / specific gift on eligible purchases once they have reached the specified threshold levels.

Yes, you will earn Brick Rewards Points on purchases made with gift cards.

Once you have reached a specified threshold level, you can choose to redeem your earned Brick Rewards Points. You will receive a coupon which will then be added to your Brick Rewards Account at the time of payment. Please note that, when you order online, payment occurs when your order is shipped.

It may take up to twenty-four (24) hours after payment before the earned Brick Rewards Points appear on your account.

No, it is not possible to redeem Brick Rewards Points during the same transaction in which they are earned.

No, points may not be redeemed against the purchase of gift cards (plastic or electronic). However, when you use the balance on a gift card for a purchase, you will earn Brick Rewards Points.

No, Brick Rewards Points can only be redeemed for purchases made online at www.greatyellowbrick.co.za and at LEGO® Certified Stores in South Africa.

No, Brick Rewards Points have no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for cash. In cases where the discount earned through redemption of Brick Rewards Points exceeds the value of the purchase, change will not be given.

No, Brick Rewards Points cannot be purchased, transferred or redeemed for cash.

If you return products for refund, any points earned for the purchase will be deducted from your account balance, and any points redeemed will be added to your account balance.

If your Brick Rewards Card is lost or stolen, you must visit us in store or contact us on at playwell@thebrick.co.za for a replacement card. Please note that you will be asked security questions related to your Brick Rewards account to process your request. The lost card will be deactivated and replaced by a new one.

You may cancel your membership by sending an email to playwell@thebrick.co.za or by arrangement in store. When you contact us, you will be asked security questions related to your account to verify that it is your Brick Rewards Account.

If you fail to meet or observe any of these Terms and Conditions, the GYBC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your Brick Rewards Membership with immediate effect.

No compensation will be offered for points earned if your Brick Rewards Membership is terminated.

GYBC reserves the right to cancel or remove points which have been issued to your account by mistake or due to a system or human error. GYBC will not tolerate knowing misuse of the system when/if an error in the number of points occurs and such misuse will lead to termination of the member's account and a ban from future use.

Yes, GYBC reserves the right to cancel or substantially modify the Brick Rewards Program at any time. If GYBC does so, you will be notified via email two (2) months prior to the cancellation of the Brick Rewards Program or substantial modifications of the Brick Rewards Program that will have a negative material impact on your ways of earning or spending points.

No, GYBC cannot be held responsible for any misuse, hacking etc. of your Brick Rewards Membership account. Further, GYBC cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising from such misuse, hacking etc. The use of the Brick Rewards Membership is solely at your own risk.

If you become aware of misuse or suspected misuse of your Brick Rewards Account, you should immediately contact GYBC via playwell@thebrick.co.za or notify your local LEGO® Certified Store in South Africa.

To the extent not excluded by mandatory laws, you agree that the laws of the Republic of South Africa, will exclusively govern your participation in the Brick Rewards Program, including the application and interpretation of these Terms and Conditions for the Brick Rewards Program, and any dispute arising between you and GYBC in relation to your participation in the Brick Rewards Program.
